Detailed Production Process of Enamel Water Tanks: Full Process from Steel Plate to Finished Product

Enamel steel panel water tanks are known for their unique glass-like glaze layer, which not only gives the tanks a beautiful appearance but also provides excellent anti-corrosion and sanitary performance. Understanding the production process of enamel water tanks helps consumers better understand product value and key purchasing points.
Raw Material Preparation
High-quality enamel water tank substrates use cold-rolled low-carbon steel plates, typically DC04 grade, 3-5mm thickness. Steel plates must pass strict quality inspection with no cracks, bubbles, inclusions or other defects on the surface. After cutting, steel plates undergo stamping to form enamel water tank panel blanks of various specifications.
Surface Pretreatment
This is one of the most critical steps in enamel production. Steel plate blanks must go through multiple processes including degreasing, pickling, neutralization, and phosphating to form a uniform phosphate conversion coating on the steel plate surface, providing a good foundation for subsequent enamel glaze adhesion.
Enamel Glaze Preparation and Application
Enamel glaze is made from mineral materials including quartz sand, feldspar, and borax, divided into ground coat and cover coat according to use requirements. Ground coat contains more metal oxides such as cobalt and nickel to ensure bonding strength between glaze and steel; cover coat focuses more on smoothness and sanitary performance. Glaze application generally uses electrostatic spraying or flow coating to ensure uniform glaze thickness (typically 0.1-0.3mm).
Firing Formation
Glazed panels enter tunnel kilns and are fired at 830-880Β°C for about 15 minutes. During this process, the glaze melts and forms strong chemical bonds with the steel plate surface, forming a bright and flat glass-like glaze surface after cooling.
Quality Inspection and Assembly
Fired enamel panels must pass multiple inspections including appearance inspection, adhesion testing, and acid-alkali resistance testing. Qualified panels are assembled according to order specifications with special sealant gaskets at connections to ensure overall sealing performance.
Beijing Yuanhui enamel water tanks strictly implement JB/T 11453 standard with factory inspection reports for each batch, providing quality assurance for users.
